Welcome to my blog.

Hello. My name is Mr. Kimble and I am teaching English at Jersey Community High School. Welcome to my blog. This is a new experience for me and I hope it will be a valuable use of not only my time, but your time as well.
I'd like to set a couple of ground rules. First of all, this is an academic blog. Any posts, attachments, comments, or discussions must remain academic in nature. Chalk it up to the crazy world we live in, but I do not want there to be any confusion as to the nature of the content of this blog at any time. Secondly, I encourage a high level of confidentiality. There MAY be discussions regarding classroom activities which MAY involve individuals in the class. Knowing the reality of blogs, I would prefer that you refrain from using any other individual's name in your comments. Keep comments about individuals as general as possible -- using the terms "male student" or "female student" or even "student 1" are preferred. Although the nature of the conversation may be familiar to those involved, it is not necessary to let the whole world know more than they need to.
For now, I cannot think of anything else to write for an introduction.

See you in class!
Mr. Kimble

This is a very good way for students to get involved in a class discussion outside the class. This blogspot gives everyone a chance to be heard without fear of being contradicted. I think it is an excellent way to learn about new ideas and subjects from home. Thank you for creating it.

  2. This is a good way to get opinions out, and it is a good way to get ideas out in the open and keep kids who get embarresed identities secret.

  5. I would have to agree to the positive nature of the confidentiality of students on this blog. i agree also that it is a great way to get ideas out considering many students already spend a sizable ammout of time on the internet. XP

  6. I like the fact that you are having this because it is kinda like having a one-on-one talk with a teacher. I would like to say that i am so glad that you decided to work here this year. You are a very good teacher and you have all these things that you want us to try...I hope we get the chance to try them. Hope we have a good second semester just like we had a good first semester!!! :) lol

  8. I really like the blog. Once students get involved with the blog it is a good way to see how people are feeling and if someone has the same opinion as yourself. I like to let the teacher know how im feeling but dont want to say it out loud so im really glad that you have this blog that you can state your opinions. Thanks for that!

  9. I believe this is an excellent idea. Many teachers need to get more involved in the ever changing technological world in which young people are growing up in. It also helps the teh teacher get more involved in individualized needs of students.

  10. This blog spot thing is truely a great idea. Not just for extra credit. But to get info on what other students ideas are of the class and stuff. See what their opinions are and likes and dislikes I guess. So far this has been a reall big inporvment of my grade to help it stay up for the final so i wont have to be pressured for it. Well thats all for now. Thanks Mr.Kimble.

  11. I really love that we can express what we think is working and not working in class. It also helps you to understand our opinions. It also gives us a chance to see what other kids are getting out of your class and compare and contrast our opinions. This a great idea and I think other teachers should do the same thing.

  13. Hey i think its cool that you are working on poetry with your sophomore's. Also i think it is a great thing to do the reading prosses with us freshmen. It has helped me in many of my other classes. For example... when i read stuff in other classe, first i: look over it or (scan it), then like stuff pop's out at me and i beggin to wonder about it (create questions), then i beggin to read... adn so on and so forth. There is also many other things i use the reading prosses for and i am beggining to do it all the time and without even thinking about it...also i think you have a very good teaching methiod. YOu are one of those teachers that now how to explain things... so that i can understand very well. Well idk what else to say..... so...=)=> cya in class....=>

I really appricate the fact that you take the time to do things like this for us. Most teachers wouldn't sacrifice their personal time to help their students the way you do. I know that even I will complain about having to use the computer to get assignments, but you are just preparing us for the future and you are showing a great interest for being a teacher. Once again thanks for all the effort you have put into making us better students.

  17. Mr. Kimble,
I think what you are doing this blog site will help out a lot of people. It will get them more involved with the internet and how to get to things and use it. Also, i think it is a good idea how you are telling people not to say other people's names and to keep them private. I think you should keep up what you are doing with this and try to get as many people as you can to read and follow it. This is also a great way for people to get to know you and what you think about things.
